Planning Technician

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Planning Technician for a temporary assignment that may last up to 6 months.
In this position, you will primarily be responsible for assisting members of the public with general inquiries about zoning and the application process for planning entitlements. You will also review and process simple planning applications, including temporary event and land use permits.
Required Skills:

Experience reading and interpreting zooming and City ordinances and understanding of basic concepts of urban planning.

Experience and familiarity with reading and interpreting site plans, elevations, and other architectural drawings.

Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Familiarity with using GIS based mapping software.

Education in planning, drafting, architecture, or a related field preferred.
Full-time: Monday – Thursday (four 10 hour days)
Pay = $21.47-25.61/hr
