Our client is looking for a Front Counter Clerk that will be responsible for cashiering, providing assistance with business licenses, scanning documents for retention compliance, and offering general customer service at the front counter. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to interact with both the public and internal departments effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, data entry, and proficiency in using software like Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cashiering:
Process payments received from various departments and walk-up customers at the front counter.
Maintain accuracy in handling transactions and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
Business License Assistance:
Provide assistance to businesses with the application, renewal, and inquiries related to business licenses.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of business license activities.
Document Scanning and Retention:
Scan and upload documents in compliance with retention policies.
Ensure that all documents are properly categorized and stored in the correct systems.
Customer Service:
Offer excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from the public at the front counter.
Assist customers with any issues, answer questions, and provide general guidance on services.
Front Counter Support:
Assist with front counter operations as needed, including managing customer flow and providing support to other team members.
Qualifications:
Experience in customer service, particularly in a public-facing role.
Strong computer skills, including data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with Tyler Cashiering and Energov software is preferred but not required.
Additional Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
This role requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to both the public and internal departments.
