Job Description

Our client, a local non-profit, has an immediate need for a Director of Finance with a minimum of five (5) years accounting experience; preferably with non-profit organizations that will be responsible for all fiscal operations and carry out the financial management, reporting, budget preparation and forecasting of the Organization.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have an understanding of non-profit financial management and have the ability to work independently of direct supervision;
  • Proficient computer skills are required with spread sheet/QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and custom databases;
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate an effectiveness in working with both Executive and Program staff.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee all aspects of the financial information and management of the Organization, including new and existing programs and services
  • Develop and maintain financial business procedures/protocols to assure proper compliance of all financial systems of the Organization in an efficient, professional manner
  • Manage accounts receivable, payroll, all payable systems, oversee annual audit and all federal, state and county reporting requirements including annual 990 tax return filing
  • Manage insurance plans: retirement, agency insurance (DNO), employer insurance, EDD, Workshare, etc.
  • Provide fiscal management of all special events
  • Prepare for monthly meeting with Chief Executive Officer and Board Treasurer (prior to monthly board meeting) providing monthly balance sheets and profit & loss statements which will be presented at the monthly board meeting
  • Attend all monthly Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings
  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, develop for approval of the Organization' s Board, the annual operating budget
  • Responsible for processing all donations including on various web-based venues
  • Work with fiscal representatives of county and other funding institutions, etc.
  • Prepare annual audit and oversee RFP process for identifying audit firm
  • Provide financial billing, reporting and financial oversight on all Organization contracts and grants
  • Attend all county contract and grantor required meetings
  • Prepare program analysis on various contracted programs
  • Other duties as may be assigned


Full-time
Pay = $50k/$70k annually -- DOE (plus benefits)
