Job Description
Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to assist the Controller in all aspects of their accounting department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and budgeting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Posts charges and payments to accounts.

Posts invoices and distributes payments to the Company’s vendors.

Processes payroll and maintains the 401K database.

All filing for all accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, P/R and Human Resources.

Assists the Controller in onboarding and offboarding of personnel.

Prepares daily, weekly, monthly reports for Department Heads, as needed.

Assists the Controller in reconciling all balance sheet accounts.

Assists the Controller in the preparation of the annual budget.

Manages the Employee Group Insurance program.

Posts petty cash transactions and reconciles petty cash bank and liability accounts.

Secretary and Department Representative to the Safety Committee.

Discretion – Does not disclose any information regarding an employee to anyone other than to the Controller or General Manager, unless expressly directed by the Controller or General Manager.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
-
BA in Accounting preferred.
-
Experience in Payroll, Human Resources, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, preferably in a club environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
Language Skills:
-
Ability to read, write and speak English language effectively.
-
Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
-
Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to management and staff.
Computer Skills:
-
Advanced working knowledge of the operation of Microsoft-based personal computers and computer networks, including understanding of data storage, file management, security and troubleshooting.

Advanced working knowledge of and ability to effectively use the Microsoft office suite of software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).

Advanced working knowledge of Jonas.

The ability to efficiently learn and use new software programs.
Full-time
Pay = $70k to $85k DOE
